Drouhin-Laroze’s 2022 Clos Prieur is a Premier Cru Gevrey-Chambertin adjacent to Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru. The vineyard’s clay-limestone soils yield firm, ageworthy Pinot Noir with depth and structure. The domaine has been family-run since 1850 and now practices sustainable viticulture.

The equally refined but punchier medium weight flavors exude a discreet minerality that adds a sense of lift to the more structured, powerful and youthfully austere finish. After a short cold soak, the wines ferment naturally with a 2-3 week maceration with both pigeage and remontage. 30% whole clusters employed during the fermentation

Aged 17 months in 40% new oak, 60% one year old barrels made from Allier & Nivernais forests, followed by 1 month in tank for assemblage and then into bottle without filtration.
