The Berri vineyard sits in the westernmost corner of Barolo, outside the more famous crus, but Trediberri treats it like gold—and it shows. The site’s higher elevation and sandy soils give a more lifted, aromatic style of Nebbiolo, and in the cooler, structured 2021 vintage, the wine is pitch-perfect: floral, red-fruited, and driven by energy and finesse rather than brute power.

Expect classic notes of sour cherry, rose petal, orange peel, and a dusting of anise and spice, all wrapped in fine, grippy tannins and a mineral-laced finish. There’s freshness and clarity here—Barolo that’s easy to love young, but with enough depth to evolve for decades, especially in this 3-liter format, which slows the aging curve and adds dramatic table presence.

"Nicola and Stefania Oberto are slowly putting Berri on the map. Silky, aromatic and creamy on the palate, the 2021 Barolo Berri is striking in its beauty. Crushed flowers, sweet red-toned fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper all meld together effortlessly. Silky, polished tannins frame the finish. The 2021 doesn't have the immediacy of the 2020, but it may catch up to it one day because of its energy. It is a superb young Barolo—that much is clear. "Made with grapes grown 370-430m above sea level in the MGA of the same name in La Morra, the 2021 Trediberri Berri is fragrant and already delicious. It opens with inviting aromas of ripe red cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and ground clove that follow through to the succulent palate. Lithe tannins provide seamless support while fresh acidity keeps it balanced. Vineyard
Sourced from the estate 4.75 hectare vineyard of Berri.
Orientation
East-facing at 250-270 meters in elevation.
Soil
The soil is from the Messinian period (emerging between 5 and 7 million years ago) and is therefore younger than the one found in the Eastern part of La Morra. The soil composition is due to its proximity to the river, with pebbles, and limestone.
Viticulture
Hand-harvested.
Vinification
Fermented in concrete and lasts about 12-14 days followed by a six to seven day maceration. Total skin-juice contact is about three weeks. Then malolactic takes place in oak.
Aging
The wine ages for around 20 months in 52 HL and 25Hl oak Garbellotto barrels. After aging, the wine rests for some months in concrete before being bottled in April or May of the year before the release.
