Domaine Gilbert Picq is everything that’s going right in Chablis these days. It all begins and ends with how the wine tastes, of course, and Picq’s Chablis is a delicious, straight up expression of Chablisienne terroir. It has the famous minerality. And it has the bright acid drive that keeps the wine fresh on hot days. The Picqs do this by taking the whole project seriously--like the best of today's Chablis--investing the time, energy and money to do things right. Pascal Picq (the brother in charge of the vines) keeps yields low with aggressive winter pruning and summer crop thinning. So there's less wine, but it's more concentrated with Chablis goodness. They harvest by hand (rarer than you’d think, in Chablis).Didier Picq (the cellar brother) vinifies with natural yeasts and permits no oak in the process: nothing that might distract from the terroir or the fruit.

Focus On: Burgundy
Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.
While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!
From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
