You don't run across Oregon Petit Manseng often, and this one comes from one of the most interesting sites in the Columbia Gorge. Analemma's Mosier Hills Estate sits in an old eddy of the Missoula Floods. The ice-age waters left river cobbles, small boulders and granitic glacial erratics scattered through grassland and Oregon White Oak, at about 600 feet in the Mosier Valley. The site is in the rain shadow of the Cascades, caught between maritime and continental climates, and it rewards growers who like to experiment. Founders Kris Fade and Steven Thompson are those growers: they planted the first Mencía in the US in 2012, and they've made a name with grapes like Godello and Petit Manseng that hardly anyone else in the country touches. The farming is Demeter-certified biodynamic, and every fermentation starts on native vineyard yeasts. A small team does it all, from the vines to the cellar to sales. At 500ml, it's an easy way to try something you won't find anywhere else.

More about Analemma

Analemma farms in the Mosier Valley of the Columbia Gorge, making wines exclusively from Gorge fruit. The estate earned Demeter biodynamic certification in 2017 and, by its own account, was the first to plant Mencía in the United States, back in 2012. Alongside that Mencía you'll find unexpected grapes like Godello, Trousseau and Petit Manseng, plus Pinot Noir, Syrah and sparkling wine. These are transparent, low-intervention wines that taste of a cool, windswept place.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Roast chicken with tarragon cream sauce; pork belly with caramelized apples; Thai green curry with shrimp; seared scallops in brown butter; aged Comté or Ossau-Iraty.

Tasting Profile

Expect a dry Petit Manseng with real presence: ripe pineapple, mango, quince and lime zest, with a waxy, mouth-filling texture. The grape's naturally high acidity typically keeps all that richness lively, so the finish comes out long, bright and zesty. Think of the weight of a Viognier with the snap of a dry Riesling.
