Vincent Bitouzet has been in partnership with famed importer Neil Rosenthal for over 30 years, bringing classic, old-school Burgundy to wine lovers in the U.S. His great-great-grandfather established the domaine, and when Vincent married Anne Prieur she brought along her own family history of winemaking along with significant vineyard holdings. Today the domaine is about 12 hectares in Volnay and Meursault. All of the Bitouzet-Prieur vineyards are farmed organically. Copper is kept to a minimum and sexual confusion is employed to reduce insect infestations. Winemaking is very traditional, native yeast fermentation and aging in mostly used barrique.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 90
"Bright dark red. Initially stunted nose opened with air to show scents of red cherry and spices. Plush, fine-grained and youthful, conveying excellent energy to its raspberry and cherry flavors. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and a late hint of truffle. I wanted a bit more detail--but then this wine appears still to be short of full maturity." -Vinous

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
