Quite possibly our favorite rose, and always Flatiron's first of the season. Ameztoi is a cult Basque producer twenty minutes from San Sebastian that pioneered rose Txakolina, embracing the local red grape Hondarrabi Beltza while neighbors were ripping it out. Rubentis is a co-fermentation of red and white Basque varieties, with a Vinho Verde-like spritz from trapped CO2 and a hit of watermelon. The vines border the Bay of Biscay, so there's real salinity here too. A little juicy, a little fizzy, a whole lot of fun, and this is the party-sized magnum.
