"The beautiful Grospoli Vineyard, with its steep stone terraces, faces the tiny stone hamlet where Paolo Socci has his artisanal winery in a little cave behind a large wooden door with a big lock. His Fattoria di Lamole 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Antico Lamole Vigna Grospoli has a very minty, balsamic character with medicinal herb and hints of the proverbial Band-Aid. Changing a few of the old oak barrels in the winery would certainly work to good effect. But no doubt this organic wine offers a very authentic and beloved expression from Lamole, where some of the most traditional or "old school" wines of Chianti Classico are found.
