What is this wine?

Bodegas Yuste is an independent, family-run house based in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, founded by Francisco Yuste in the 1990s and built from the acquisition of several historic bodegas, including the revered Miraflores and Los Ángeles cellars. The Aurora line honors Doña Aurora Ambrosse Lacave, a 19th-century Sanlúcar wine merchant and matriarch whose soleras Yuste continues today. The Oloroso Aurora is made from 100% Palomino Fino grown on the region’s classic albariza soils, aged oxidatively in a solera system for around 12–15 years, giving it depth, complexity, and concentration.

This is a superb example of traditional Oloroso from one of Sanlúcar’s most respected independent bodegas. Yuste’s approach combines historical soleras, small-scale craftsmanship, and natural aging to produce a Sherry of real pedigree and value. The “Aurora” Oloroso offers the rich, nutty intensity typical of older Sherry at an exceptional price, perfect for both newcomers and connoisseurs.

What does this wine taste like?

Full-bodied and dry, with layers of toasted walnut, fig, burnt orange peel, and warm spice, framed by savory umami notes and a long, elegant finish.
