Château des Bachelards makes some of the most ambitious wine in all of Beaujolais. Comtesse Alexandra de Vazeilles farms old-vine Gamay (some vines over a century old) on rare granitic blue clay in Fleurie, certified organic and biodynamic. "Le Clos" is the estate's flagship monopole, a wine built for elegance and serious aging. The 2014 has had a decade to develop, putting it in a lovely mature window for a cru Beaujolais of real depth.

Tasting Profile

Elegant medium-bodied red with floral, red-fruit and stony tones turning toward dried fruit and spice; fine tannins, mellowed by a decade of age.
