Château Marjosse is the personal project of Pierre Lurton—better known for running Cheval Blanc and Yquem—so it’s no surprise that even his humble Bordeaux Blanc is made with extraordinary care. Sourced from old vines planted on limestone and clay soils, the estate produces whites that punch far above their basic Bordeaux AOC label.
The 2017 is a classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, offering the best of both varieties. Time in bottle has given it a gentle, rounded texture without sacrificing freshness. Bright notes of lemon curd, green apple, and white flowers are balanced by hints of beeswax, herbs, and a touch of stony minerality on the finish.
It’s vibrant yet composed—a Bordeaux Blanc that bridges youthful zest and early maturity perfectly, offering a lot of the character you'd expect from much more expensive Graves or Pessac-Léognan bottlings.
Pair with: roast chicken, shellfish, chèvre salad, or anything dressed in lemon and olive oil.
