A mountain-grown Napa red from a top vineyard site, made by one of the valley's most respected hands. Checkerboard Vineyards sits on the southeastern slopes of Diamond Mountain, and Aurora is its estate Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Petit Verdot, crafted by acclaimed winemaker Martha McClellan. The 2012 vintage was an ideal Napa growing season, generous and balanced, and it shows in a wine that pairs power with polish. Now well into its drinking window but with room to keep; decant before serving.
