An early-drinking Pinot Noir released young — the name means spring red, and that is exactly the job it is built for. Christian Venier farms around seven hectares near Cande-sur-Beuvron in Cheverny, organically and without certification, ferments with native yeast and adds next to no sulfur; his mother and the Puzelats' father were siblings, and he and Thierry Puzelat took up natural winemaking together around 1990. 2025 was a hot, early vintage in the Loire, with moderate volumes and reds that came in expressive. This is the light-bodied, chill-it end of Venier's range: drink it young and cold, with food and company rather than contemplation.
