This 25-acre Vouvray estate's wines were served aboard the SS Normandie in 1936, and its parcels appear on geological maps from 1907—not history for its own sake, but evidence of terroir stability and intentional site selection. South-facing hillside on clay, limestone, and tuffeau (a water-retaining soft limestone), the Chenin Blanc expresses itself with flinty minerality and fantastic acidity. Intense and fruity—white flowers and quince drive the aromatics—but the mineral backbone defines the wine. A dry Vouvray that balances immediate freshness with the potential to develop further complexity.
