Collines de L’If comes from younger vines and carefully selected parcels from Château L’If’s limestone-rich slopes near Saint-Émilion. Under the same meticulous care as Le Pin—hand-harvested, vinified in small tanks, aged in fine French oak—this second label delivers real pedigree at a more accessible level.

The 2018 vintage was warm and generous, and this wine opens with ripe blackberry, plum, and crushed violets, layered with spice, graphite, and a touch of mocha. The palate is silky and round, but anchored by mineral tension and fine-grained tannins that point to its limestone terroir. It’s a wine of both plushness and lift.

Drink it now with a short decant, or cellar for 5–10 years as it gains further complexity. Perfect with roast duck, lentil stew, or even a simple steak frites—Collines de L’If is proof that a second wine can still be seriously special.
