What is this wine?
Dard et Ribo, founded in the 1980s by René-Jean Dard and François Ribo, are pioneers of natural winemaking in the northern Rhône. Based in Mercurol, they farm organically and vinify with native yeasts, no fining or filtering, and little to no added sulfur. Their Crozes-Hermitage “Printemps” is an early-release bottling of pure Syrah from young vines on alluvial and clay-limestone soils, made for immediate enjoyment.
Why get this wine?
Natural Rhône wines of this pedigree are rare. Printemps captures Syrah’s bright, peppery fruit in a joyful, easy-to-drink style while still bearing the stamp of Crozes terroir. It’s an authentic and approachable introduction to one of the Rhône’s most respected natural wine domaines—beloved by sommeliers and collectors alike.
What does this wine taste like?
Juicy and vibrant, with red cherry, blackberry, and plum lifted by cracked black pepper, violets, and a savory herbal edge. Light tannins and lively acidity make it fresh and gulpable.
When should you drink this wine?
Best enjoyed young, slightly chilled, for its vibrant fruit and energy. Perfect with charcuterie, grilled sausages, roast chicken, or vegetable stews. Drink 2024–2027.
