Burghound

88 points

"An exuberantly fresh and notably ripe nose combines notes of plum, black raspberry and plenty of earth that can also be found on the round, delicious and impressively dense flavors that possess a lovely mid-palate texture that contrasts somewhat with the mildly rustic finale. This is an excellent Bourgogne with ample aging potential too." —Allen Meadows

Antonio Galloni

91 points

"The 2016 Bourgogne Rouge is absolutely divine. Beautifully defined black plum and wild strawberry mixed with pressed violet petal feature on a nose that, frankly, is indistinguishable from a Premier Cru. The palate is full of tension, almost chalky tannins framing the vibrant black fruit with exquisite detail on the finish. Bought off a restaurant list for under €50, this was money very well spent. Tasted at Maufoux restaurant in Chablis while relishing England's victory over Germany in the Euros." —Neal Martin

Robert Parker

88 points

"Bursting with aromas of cherries and dried flowers, subtly framed by new oak, the 2016 Bourgogne Pinot Noir is medium-bodied, satiny and supple, laden with juicy, crunchy fruit. It's an attractively pure, succulent wine from Coche-Dury." —William Kelley

More about Domaine Coche-Dury

The king of Meursault, if monarchs existed in wine. These white Burgundies are the opposite of showy—subtle, mineral, built for the long haul. Jean-François Coche-Dury remains one of the region's most respected names, and his vineyards across the appellation produce wines with the kind of finesse that makes critics run out of adjectives.
