Only two hectares of the Durrbach family's Alpilles estate are planted to white grapes, and what comes off them is one of Provence's most distinctive whites. It grows on the same north-facing limestone slopes as the famous rouge, farmed organically since the estate's beginning, but the blend could not be more different: Marsanne leads by a wide margin, with Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Chardonnay, Clairette and a whisper of Muscat filling in around it. Each variety is fermented and raised separately in barrel and demi-muid for about a year with minimal racking, then blended. After two years of extreme drought, rain finally returned to the Alpilles in February 2024, and the harvest ran variety by variety from late August to late September. The result carries the wild fennel and herb scent of the hills it grows on, held in a taut limestone frame.

More about Domaine de Trevallon

Eloi Dürrbach planted the first vines here in 1973 on Provence's Alpilles limestone, creating what would become an iconic estate. His mantra—"the less you do, the wine"—still guides 15 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. His wife Floriane and their children continue the philosophy of minimal intervention and maximum integrity.

Tasting Profile

Stone fruit, fresh almond and white flowers with wild fennel and a faint peppery lift. Medium to full-bodied and dry, silky in texture, with bright acidity carrying a long, stony, saline finish.
