A larger, regal Premier Cru bordering Grand Cru Romanee-Saint-Vivant. Mongeard-Mugneret farms across Vosne-Romanee's finest terroirs from its long-established base in the village. Les Suchots is one of the commune's grandest Premiers Crus, prized for power married to elegance, with fine, lingering tannins and a velvety mellowness. The 2015 was a rich, ripe vintage that suits this site's depth, so it's built to reward the cellar or a good decant now. About as close to Grand Cru as Premier Cru gets. Pinot Noir.

"There is just enough reduction present to render assessing the nose difficult. Otherwise there is both good volume and concentration to the middle weight plus flavors that are also blessed with plenty of sappy and tannin-buffering dry extract on the dusty, serious, balanced and markedly firm finale. Despite the impressive richness and sap this is sufficiently structured to require at least 8 to 10 years of bottle age first. Worth checking out."
