Anjou is schist country, and Emmanuel Ogereau makes it sparkle. This Blanc de Blancs cremant is built on Chenin Blanc rounded out with Chardonnay, grown on the dark stone that gives the Anjou Noir its name and farmed organically since the estate certified in 2019. Made in the traditional method with native yeasts and extended time on the lees, it's finished Extra Brut so almost no dosage gets in the way. The result is a Loire bubbly with real backbone: fresh, structured, and alive, closer to grower Champagne in spirit than to easygoing party fizz. A serious sparkler for people who think all cremant is an afterthought.

Emmanuel Ogereau took over his family's 16-hectare Anjou estate at age 26 and immediately went organic, with certification arriving in 2019. The domaine pulls Chenin Blanc from the Coteaux du Layon and Savennières, plus red varieties like Cabernet Franc from terroir that demands respect. The wines—including L'Anjouée and Vent de Spilite—pull from terroir with real character. Fresh, structured, alive—Loire done with intention and skill.
