Fabien Coche, a cousin of the famed Coche-Dury family, has carved out his own reputation for crafting transparent, terroir-driven white Burgundies that showcase the soul of Meursault without excess oak or weight. His 2022 Meursault Blanc is a village-level bottling sourced from several old-vine parcels, vinified with native yeasts and aged in mostly used French oak barrels.

The wine opens with aromas of lemon curd, white peach, acacia blossom, and toasted hazelnut, followed by a palate that’s broad yet finely etched. There’s a signature Meursault creaminess here, but it’s held in check by fresh acidity and a chalky, mineral finish that speaks to the limestone-rich soils.

This is a versatile, cellar-worthy Chardonnay that pairs as well with roasted poultry and creamy pastas as it does with shellfish and aged cheeses. Drink now with a short decant, or cellar 5–10 years to watch it deepen and evolve.
