A Southern Rhône white worth buying by the case: four Rhône varieties, no oak at all, and the team behind Château de Beaucastel doing the farming. Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier come off the fresh, light soils of Cairanne and Jonquières, on the land between the Ouvèze and Aigues rivers, and the fruit is picked in the early morning so it arrives cold at the cellar. After cold settling, fermentation runs around 16°C in stainless steel for roughly two weeks, and the wine rests in tank until bottling — every choice here points at freshness. For this house even the introductory bottlings get real attention, which is why the entry-level Perrin wines punch above their station. This is a current release built for drinking young: chill it well and pour it this year.
