A half-hectare of Nebbiolo in Giachini, one of the crus of Annunziata — the same corner of La Morra as Rocche dell'Annunziata, just a little lower down the hill at 270 meters, southeast-facing on calcareous clay. Carlo and Enzo Revello learned their trade from Elio Altare and Beppe Caviola, and it shows in the cellar: a short, intense maceration in rotofermenters, then two years in French barriques, a portion of them new. That approach can read as flashy when the wine is young, but 2013 was a classic, high-acid Piedmont vintage of nuance rather than power, and thirteen years have knit the oak into the fruit. From a private cellar, and drinking in a good spot now. Decant it an hour before dinner.
