Grower Champagne at an approachable price is rare enough that we keep coming back to Gamet—and "Rive Gauche" is their left-bank calling card. The name refers to the left bank of the Marne, and every grape here is sourced from the village of Mardeuil, just across the river from Epernay, where clay-limestone soils give the wine its texture and mineral bite. Fourth-generation vigneronne Marianne Gamet makes a Meunier-dominant blend of roughly 55% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, and 15% Chardonnay, raised mostly in stainless steel with roughly 10% in oak, aged about 18 months on lees, and finished in the Brut range. It's a serious grower Champagne that overdelivers—exactly the kind of bottle we love pointing people toward.
