"The 2022 Riesling Kellerberg Smaragd faces south-southeast—slightly cooler, as the shade of the neighboring Höhereck cuts off some sun. The aromatic nose blends fragrant spiced grapefruit with Reine Claude plum and greengage, propelling juiciness but not overt ripeness. An overtone of bergamot presents a highlight. Round, full and immensely juicy, the palate has that same tart green-yellow fruitiness. Animation and energy drives this forward, tingling with grapefruit zest and vivacious energy.
