Most California Sauvignon Blanc comes from the valley floor; this one grows on a ridgetop around 2,400 feet in the Moon Mountain District, where the air is cooler and the soils are a complex mix of ancient seabed and volcanic rock. That high-elevation site, farmed organically and biodynamically by veteran grower Phil Coturri, gives Korbin Kameron's Sauvignon Blanc real energy and definition. Tiny yields are fermented in a blend of stainless steel and oak, then aged briefly in French oak, just 20% new, for a touch of texture without losing the grape's bright snap. The result is a more serious, structured take on California Sauvignon Blanc. Pour it cold.
