A rose with a passport. Living Roots splits its year between the Finger Lakes and South Australia, and this pale, dry pink comes from cool-climate New York Cabernet Franc given just a couple of hours on the skins. That short kiss of maceration draws out color and a whisper of fine tannin, so this drinks more like a serious, food-friendly Provence-style rose than a fruity poolside sipper. Fresh strawberry, high-toned acidity, and a cool-climate snap of spice. Rose you can actually think about, from one of New York's most inventive producers.
