Marcel Lapierre was one of the founding fathers of natural Beaujolais, one of Kermit Lynch's "Gang of Four", and his children Mathieu and Camille carry the torch today. The Cuvee Marcel honors their father and is made only in exceptional vintages from very old vines (some over a hundred years) on Morgon's storied Cote du Py. MMXIX is the 2019 vintage, a warm, ripe year that gave a generous, concentrated wine. With a few years of age it's drinking very well now, with more in the tank for the patient. A special bottle for anyone who loves living, honest Beaujolais.

More about Marcel Lapierre

Marcel Lapierre is the father of natural wine, and his domaine remains the blueprint. Organic vineyards, wild yeasts, no sulfur, biodynamic methods since 1981—these weren't fashionable choices then. Now his son and daughter carry on the legacy with 18 hectares of exemplary Beaujolais.
