Spenser Morgen Long has quickly established himself as one of Oregon’s top Chardonnay specialists, crafting wines that channel both the elegance of Burgundy and the singular intensity of Willamette Valley terroir. Sourced from the high-elevation Temperance Hill Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills, this 2022 bottling reflects the site’s volcanic soils and cool-climate tension, delivering a Chardonnay that is precise, structured, and full of quiet power.

Green apple, lemon curd, and crushed oyster shell lead, giving way to a palate that balances bright acidity with a touch of creamy depth. A gentle kiss of oak adds texture without overshadowing the wine’s racy, saline-driven core. With its crisp precision and layered complexity, it’s a Chardonnay that pairs effortlessly with fresh seafood, roast chicken, or simply a contemplative evening with a well-chosen glass.

More about Morgen Long

Seth Morgen Long is the first (and only) Oregon winemaker completely devoted to Willamette Valley Chardonnay. After 15 years in restaurants and a stint at Domaine de Montille in Burgundy, he started in 2014 buying small lots from old-school farmers. His focus on balance, acidity, and fruit development is monastic. The wine shows it.
