Pormenor is part of the new wave of Douro winemakers moving beyond the region’s reputation for powerful reds and fortified wines, instead focusing on freshness, balance, and site expression. Trilho Branco 2020 is a field blend of native Portuguese varieties—including Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, and Arinto—sourced from old vines planted in high-altitude, granitic soils. Aged on lees in neutral barrels, it gains complexity and texture without losing its precise, mineral-driven core.
Golden apple, Meyer lemon, and subtle orange blossom lead into layers of crushed rock, dried thyme, and a touch of almond skin. The palate is both generous and taut, with a gentle roundness from lees aging that’s lifted by vibrant acidity. Compared to more opulent barrel-fermented Douro whites, Trilho Branco leans into purity and finesse, offering a sophisticated alternative for lovers of structured, cool-climate whites.
This wine shines alongside seafood rice, roast chicken with herbs, or aged goat cheese. Drinking beautifully now, but its depth and acidity suggest it will evolve gracefully over the next 5–7 years. A thoughtful, terroir-driven expression of modern Douro winemaking.
