Barolo's Unsung Communes: The Stories of Smaller Villages
Our newest blog post, the latest addition to our Guide to Barolo, is a closer look at the minor communes in the Barolo DOC. We cover, in as much detail as possible, the smaller villages of Diano d’Alba, Grinzane Cavour, Rodda, Verduno, Charasco, and Novello.
I know, it doesn’t seem fair! There are 11 villages with land that qualifies for DOC Barolo. Five of those villages got their own blog post. Now all six of the remaining get stuck in this one!
I know, it must be tempting to skip this post and assume that all these villages are grouped together because they’re not that important. But that’s not right. One of these villages has one of the hottest, most sought after producers of today, Burlotto. Another has a very exciting producer making some very special wines, Elvio Cogno. And there are definitely other secrets to unearth, so read on!
And, as always, we know you don’t want to read about wine without a glass of something delicious on hand. So, shop our collection of Barolos from these special villages.
