The palate is a wonderfully fluid, crystalline and pure evocation of citrus aromas: bright, clear, precise and eternal. It is super-taut, with a tingle of pepper on the long, smooth, bright finish. Jean Boxler carries on generations of winemaking in Niedermorschwihr, Alsace. The family's ancestor came over from Switzerland in the 1670s, and the estate has bottled its own wine since 1946. The heart of the domaine is the steep granite Grand Cru Sommerberg, along with Grand Cru Brand, sources of Rieslings and Pinot Gris with real intensity and cut. Careful, low-intervention farming, patient winemaking, and some of the most sought-after dry whites in Alsace.
