Arnaud Lambert farms the legendary hill of Brézé and surrounding Saumur terroirs with the conviction of someone who has found their place in the world. His Clos du Tue Loup is a single-parcel Cabernet Franc from chalkier, more precise soils than the broader appellation — biodynamically farmed, native-fermented, raised in old oak. Brézé is where Saumur's tuffeau is deepest and the wines most electric; Lambert's rouge from this terroir is lean, mineral, and persistently alive. It reads less like Loire Cab Franc and more like a wine from somewhere between Burgundy and the chalk cliffs — unique and worth knowing.

More about Arnaud Lambert

Arnaud Lambert works with his father Yves, who founded Domaine de Saint-Just in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg in 1996. In 2009 they took over the vineyards of the historic Château de Brézé, converting everything to organic farming (certified in 2012), and since 2017 the wines from both estates have carried Arnaud's name. Brézé's tuffeau, a porous chalky limestone, gives Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc of real tension and minerality, and the chalkiest parcels go into traditional-method Crémant. Saumur at its most precise.
