"The 2025 Tour de RosΓ© was picked from a field blend planted in Ried Ruster, the lightest-lying site in the village. Varieties such as Lagrein, Zweigelt, Teroldego, BlaufrΓ€nkisch, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Sankt Laurent, Merlot and Pinot Noir all contribute to this intensely pink wine, which was directly pressed and fermented in large wood. A touch of smokiness meets cherry and berry alongside waxiness on the nose. The palate is smooth and rounded, with body and only slight tannins, but lovely freshness. Very much a rosΓ© for the table and not just in summer." β€”Anne Krebiehl MW

More about Heidi Schrock & Sohne

The punk-rock-matriarch of rust is now joined by her twin sons in the vineyards and cellar. This is a family mired in tradition but constantly pushing the boundaries modernism and deliciousness.

The SchrΓΆck's have worked tirelessly to revive many of the nearly lost traditions of their darling Rust. Furmint, famous for Tokaj was once a star varietal here, thanks to Heidi and friends is now being made into some fabulous dry and sweet wines. She is a leader of Cercle Ruster Ausbruch an organization whose goal is to retain the Ausbruch sweet wines, lost after phylloxera devastated the region in the 19th century.

Her sweet wines are some of Austria's best but its the SchrΓΆck family dry wines, exuberant and vivacious which have captured the attention of today's adventurous drinker.
