Benanti is one of the names that put Mount Etna back on the world wine map, a story of a man and his sons coaxing greatness from the black volcanic slopes of Sicily's great active volcano. This rosato is their pink wine made from Nerello Mascalese, the noble red grape of Etna, grown in high-altitude vineyards on mineral-rich volcanic soils. It's a world away from the sweet, simple pinks you might expect: think bright, savory, and tense, with red-berry fruit cut by that signature Etna salinity and smoke. Chill it down and you've got one of the most distinctive rosés around. Volcanic terroir and serious know-how in a wine that overdelivers.
