Traditional Rioja Crianza made using the distinctive "trasiego" method—manual, gravity-based racking from barrel to barrel every six months, without pumping or agitation. Founded in 1992 by Pedro Peciña Crespo with his three children after Pedro spent over 20 years as head agronomist for La Rioja Alta. The estate farms 50 hectares in San Vicente de la Sonsierra using organic practices with no chemical fertilizers. Natural fermentation induction; traditional manual barrel-stacking system enables gravity techniques.

Antonio Galloni

"The 2019 Crianza Señorío de P. Peciña is from Rioja Alavesa. It aged for 24 months in oak barrels. Aromas include candy, red fruit jam and balsamic notes. It's dry and juicy on the tongue with a slightly plush feel and fine, polished tannins before a touch of volatile acidity injects energy. This is old-school in style but well executed." —Joaquín Hidalgo

"The textbook traditional red 2019 Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza was produced with their classical blend of Tempranillo with small percentages of Garnacha and Graciano. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in used American oak barrels following the most orthodox tradition, for two years, a lot longer than required to obtain the category. It has spicy notes, a hint of cigar box and forest floor and is a powerful and ripe year, when the wine achieved 14.36% alcohol and good freshness and acidity. It has a medium to full-bodied palate with a chalky mouthfeel, fine tannins and a slightly dusty and rustic touch that would welcome food. It was bottled in May 2022."
