Traditional Barolo from vines planted in the 1940s on Vitis Rupestris rootstock—the conventional post-phylloxera approach, contrasting with the estate's famous ungrafted Piè Franco bottling. From the Gabutti cru on western slopes at 300 meters in Serralunga d'Alba. Fifth-generation Augusto Cappellano maintains the family philosophy established since 1870: indigenous yeasts, extended fermentation, aging in large seasoned botti, limited sulfur, no filtration. This parcel produces two-thirds of Cappellano's Barolo. Certified organic and biodynamic.
