An easygoing, well-made Tuscan red from Castello di Farnetella, an estate owned since 1981 by the Poggiali family of Felsina fame. It sits in the Colli Senesi hills southeast of Chianti Classico, near Montalcino and Montepulciano, farmed organically. This Chianti Colli Senesi is built around Sangiovese with a touch of Merlot, a bright, food-friendly red meant for the table. The 2023 is fresh and ready to pour now, no cellaring needed, just an honest, juicy everyday Chianti.
