Trinch is a word borrowed from Rabelais meaning 'drink,' and that tells you everything about its intent: this is the Bretons' joyful, gulpable Cabernet Franc, made for drinking now rather than cellaring. Catherine and Pierre Breton are icons of natural Loire winemaking, certified organic since 1991 and biodynamic since 1994, and Trinch comes from younger vines on the clay-limestone soils of Bourgueil. It's fermented with native yeasts, vinified largely in stainless and neutral wood for just a few months, with minimal sulfur and nothing added, all to keep the fruit vivid and the texture light. Imported by Kermit Lynch. A perfect chillable, everyday red.

Fifth-generation vignerons in Restigné took a radical leap in 1985: convert to organic, then biodynamic, then natural winemaking. Catherine and Pierre believed the terroir could speak if they got out of its way. By 1995, they were vinifying without sulfur (cuvée 'Nuit d'Ivresse'). Hand-harvested, wild-yeast Cabernet Francs from Bourgueil and Chinon emerge as powerfully structured vins de garde—mineral, floral, hauntingly perfumed, shaped by gravel, clay, or tuffeau soils. Their commitment to indigenous yeast and minimal sulfur has defined natural Loire Cabernet Franc. Loire's natural wine pioneers, no compromise.
