The Bzikot family story is remarkable: Sylvain's grandfather was a Polish immigrant who arrived in Burgundy just before World War II with nothing, came to work in the vineyards around Meursault, and steadily built an estate in the post-war years when land was cheap. Today the domaine encompasses 13-15 hectares including prestigious parcels in Puligny-Montrachet, farmed organically. Auxey-Duresses sits in a valley between Meursault and Volnay, producing wines that offer genuine Burgundy character without the stratospheric prices of its famous neighbors. This Pinot Noir comes from limestone and marl soils on southeast-facing slopes. Expect charming, elegant fruit—blackcurrant, blackberry, and floral notes—with fine tannic structure. A true insider's Burgundy value.
