White Burgundy's stealth value zone, in the hands of a serious young vigneron. Auxey-Duresses sits in the hills behind Meursault, and its Chardonnays often deliver Meursault-style texture for considerably less attention (and money). David Trousselle works the appellation as part of his cool-climate-leaning portfolio β€” organic farming, ECOCERT certified from 2022, hand-harvested fruit, classical barrel fermentation, and minimal new oak (10-20% max). 2024 was the unambiguous star vintage for white Burgundy from this corner of the CΓ΄te de Beaune: critics praised precision, mineral tension, and length. A serious bottle to track down before the secret gets out.
