Old-vine Cinsault from one of the most singular wineries on earth — a Lebanese estate founded in 1868 that has kept making wine through every crisis the Bekaa has faced. Domaine des Tourelles is now run by winemaker Faouzi Issa with his sisters Johanne and Christiane, and Faouzi has become Cinsault's most determined global champion, arguing for the grape's deserved place beyond its blending-workhorse role in southern France. The Vieilles Vignes Cinsault comes from old Bekaa blocks at over 1,000 meters, where altitude moderates Lebanon's relentless sun. Native-yeast fermented in concrete, then aged in concrete and a brief stint in used French oak — minimal oak influence, transparent old-vine fruit. Pale, perfumed, lifted, more Pinot-adjacent than the grape's usual weight suggests, with the kind of structural grip that signals real terroir.

Grilled lamb skewers with sumac and pomegranate, herb-roasted chicken, ratatouille over couscous, charcuterie boards leaning Mediterranean, or a wedge of mild sheep's milk cheese with fresh figs.

Tasting Profile

Wild strawberry, dried cranberry, rose petal, white pepper, and Middle Eastern spice. Light-to-medium body, fine silky tannins, bright high-altitude acidity, and a long, perfumed, savory finish that argues hard for Cinsault as a serious variety.
