Felettig's lone Grand Cru — a tiny parcel of red Corton tucked just below Le Rognet. Domaine Felettig — second generation under Gilbert and Christine Felettig — farms just 0.30 hectares of Corton Grand Cru in the lieu-dit Les Grandes Lolières on the Ladoix-Serrigny side of the famous Corton hill, on east-facing clay-limestone soils. 100% Pinot Noir; around 1,200 bottles a year. The cuvée has only existed since the 2018 vintage. The Felettig touch — perfumed, classical, never showy — translates beautifully to Grand Cru scale here: expressive aromatics that stay vivid even after a flight of Côte de Nuits, with a delicate fineness rare for Corton. A serious bottle from a quiet pillar of Chambolle.

"A deft but not invisible application of wood sets of the slightly riper aromas of plum and black cherry liqueur that are cut with plenty of spice, floral, earth and a sandalwood wisps. There is a highly seductive and plush mouthfeel to the bigger-bodied flavors where the texture of the mid-palate contrasts with the serious, compact and equally built-to-age finale that is already impressively complex. This is potential outstanding." —Allen Meadows

"The 2023 Corton Les Grands Lolières Grand Cru matured with 40% whole bunch like the Echézeaux. Cropped at around 40hl/ha, this has an expressive bouquet with black cherry, cranberry and sous-bois scents. It becomes more floral as it opens in the glass. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, quite sweet yet controlled and fresh, with crunchy red fruit and sorbet notes and an almost citric finish. This is very lively." —Neal Martin

"From a site that has been liable to attain extremes of ripeness due to derisory yields, Felettig's effort to rehabilitate this parcel have paid off with the 2023 Corton Grand Cru Les Grand Lolières in the form of better balance. Offering up aromas of smoky cassis, incense, petals and orange rind, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and dense, with a lively, layered palate and a long, mineral finish." —William Kelley
