Fattoria La Rivolta farms in Torrecuso, in the province of Benevento, on limestone and clay hillsides in the shadow of Mount Taburno. The estate goes back over 150 years, and since the late 1990s the third generation has worked entirely with native Campanian grapes under organic certification. This Beneventano Aglianico, the I Vigneti di Bruma bottling, showcases the region's signature red grape in a darker, more brooding register: deep berry fruit, firm structure, and the savory, earthy backbone Aglianico is loved for. An honest, well-priced introduction to one of southern Italy's great reds.
