Giffard, Abricot du Roussillon Apricot Liqueur

$36.99
Taxes and shipping calculated at checkout.

The Abricot du Roussillon is made exclusively from the slow maceration of these apricots for the perfect intensity of fruits and purity of character. The bouquet of Giffard’s Abricot du Roussillon is revealed in stages: the sweetness of very ripe apricot at first, then fresh vegetal notes, finishing with sweet spices, vanilla. Caramelized apricot leads the palate, followed by subtle hints of almond and a crisp, tart finish, like fresh apricot compote.

More about Giffard

A family liqueur house in Angers, in the Loire Valley, since 1885, when pharmacist Emile Giffard turned his pharmacy into a distillery and created Menthe-Pastille, a clear mint liqueur made to cool hotel guests during a summer heatwave. Today his great-grandchildren, siblings Edith and Bruno Giffard, run the company, and the range has grown into the fruit and botanical liqueurs and syrups that serious cocktail bars reach for.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Excellent in a spritz with dry sparkling wine, in a whiskey or bourbon sour, or in an apricot-lifted Fizz. Pour it over vanilla ice cream, or serve alongside almond tart, stone-fruit desserts and frangipane. Also a good foil for blue cheese.

Tasting Profile

The bouquet unfolds in stages: very ripe apricot, then fresh vegetal notes, then sweet spice and vanilla. Caramelized apricot leads the palate, with subtle almond behind it. Sweet but lifted, with a crisp, tart finish that keeps it from turning heavy.
