Notre Terre — 'our land' — is the natural-wine side project of Brunnhilde Claux, the gifted winemaker behind Domaine de Courbissac in the Minervois. Trained at Domaine Gauby and Priorat's Terroir al Limit, she farms biodynamically and works with the lightest possible touch in the cellar. This rose is the easygoing one: fresh, dry, and thirst-quenching, with bright red fruit and a savory, mineral lift. It's the kind of honest, unfussy bottle that disappears fast. More about Notre Terre (Brunnhilde Claux)

Notre Terre ("our earth") is the personal label of Brunnhilde Claux, one of the most gifted natural-leaning winemakers in the Languedoc, and it's where she makes the fresh, chillable, terroir-transparent wines she likes to drink.

Claux trained at Domaine Gauby in the Roussillon and then spent three vintages at Terroir al Limit in Priorat before taking charge of Domaine de Courbissac, a biodynamic estate in the Minervois, in 2013. Courbissac sits in the La Livinière zone, on clay-limestone slopes threaded with gravel and sandstone at 250 to 450 meters. Since 2019 she has picked out specific parcels of old vines there for Notre Terre, farmed organically with biodynamic practices, and the age of those vines (some more than a century old) gives the wines depth and roots that ride out the Mediterranean drought.

The cellar work is hands-off: natural fermentations, whole bunches, concrete vats and little or no sulfur at bottling. The range covers every color: a juicy, mostly Grenache rouge to serve with a slight chill, a savory, saline rosé, a gentle skin-contact orange from an old field blend, and a white. Delicious, characterful wines with a real pedigree behind them.
