Same hands as the Falanghina — same care, different grape. I Pentri is the small Benevento estate Dionisio Meola and Lia Falato founded in 2002 on the terraced hillsides of Monte Taburno, working ten hectares without chemicals, by hand, with native yeasts and minimal intervention. L'Amore Delle Api — "love of the bees" — is their nod to the biodiversity that surrounds the vines, and the name suits this Fiano: honeyed and floral, but anchored. The 2022 spent a year in large wood before bottling, which has given it texture without flattening the fruit. Expect stone fruit, orange peel, white flowers, crushed river rock, a touch of spice. Three more years has only deepened it. Sannio Fiano done with real conviction.
