Robert Parker

94 points

"Tasting through several parcels/barrels, the 2020 Cote Rotie Terrasses looks to be a solid effort, marked by slightly vegetal notes up front and almost sherbet-like red fruit flavors. Medium to full-bodied, with decent texture and length, it should be approachable young, with the ability to age at least a decade." —Joe Czerwinski

Jancis Robinson

"Woo-ha! All the meat, spice, pepper, black bramble fruit and oak spice that makes Côte Rôtie so irresistible to me. This one is going at aromatic full speed – really pleasing and expressive. The palate has the finely sanded tannins and high acid that is absolutely ready to drink now. Strutting its stuff!" —Richard Hemming MW

More about Jean-Luc Jamet

The Jamet name means Côte-Rôtie, and Jean-Luc splits from his brother's traditionalism by using less whole-bunch fermentation—about 30%—to emphasize floral elements and vitality. Eight hectares of mixed granite, schist, and sand soils high above Ampuis yield Côte-Rôties that feel fresh and alive.
