When Marcel Lapierre passed in 2010, he left behind not just a Beaujolais estate but a movement — the godfather of natural wine in the region. His children Mathieu and Camille now steward the domaine, and this tribute cuvée is their love letter to him. Sourced from the family's oldest Morgon vines on the granite of Côte du Py and the lieu-dit Le Douby, made in the Lapierre house style: native yeasts, minimal sulfur, transparency over power. The 2024 is silken and perfumed, all crushed dark berries and granite spice, with that telltale Lapierre lift that makes the bottle empty before you noticed it was open. A Morgon that drinks like a love letter to a place — and to a person.

"The 2024 Morgon Cuvée Marcel Lapierre, which comes from parcels in both Côte du Py and Roche du Py, has a very different fruit profile from the regular Morgon, displaying more presence as veins of blue fruit intertwine with the red.
