From the distillery: Kiichiro Iwai, the namesake for this Mars Whisky, was a silent pioneer of Japan whisky. This whisky is inspired by great whiskies of America. A majority of corn balanced with light malt aged in ex bourbon barrels. Ideal for daily sipping, in a mint julep or an old fashioned. <br>TASTING NOTES: Sweet with fruit flavors like pear, quince and hints of red fruits and vanilla.

This Japanese distillery, founded in 1985 and mothballed 1992–2011, sits at 800 meters in Nagano—Japan's highest whisky distillery. The cool temps and soft granite-filtered snowmelt create a clean, delicate house style. Single malts, peated and unpeated, plus blends with imported Scottish whisky. Japanese precision, Antarctic finish.

Non-age statement; aged primarily in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks (other cask types including ex-wine, port, & new oak may vary batch to batch)

Proofed with the soft, alpine water of Mars Shinshu

The nose introduces clove and wildflower honey with just a hint of peat before transitioning to nougat and milk chocolate on the palate; cinnamon gracefully joins this restrained chocolate note on the finish
