Mas A Tierra is a playful, minimal-intervention bottling from Petite Empreinte, part of a new generation of Burgundy growers pushing beyond tradition into more experimental, terroir-sensitive expressions. Labeled Coteaux Bourguignons—a flexible regional appellation—it’s likely a blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir, fermented with native yeasts and bottled with minimal sulfur for maximum purity and drinkability.

Expect bright red cherry, cranberry, and wild strawberry with a whiff of stemmy herbs, damp earth, and soft spice. The texture is light, the tannins gentle, and the acidity snappy—this is a red built to serve cool and drink with abandon. Perfect with picnic fare, cheese boards, or veggie-driven dinners, it’s the kind of wine that doesn’t need an occasion—just a corkscrew and good company.

What importer Bowler Wine has to say about this wine...

100% Pinot Noir. 2023 is the second vintage from this 40-are (0.4-hectare) plot of Pinot Noir on a western-exposed, Kimmeridgian limestone ridge minutes south of Saint Bris and west of Irancy. Planted in 1990 and farmed organically with low yields (35 hl/ha). The bunches are hand-harvested, left in whole clusters and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts in barrique with a 25-day maceration and one or two punchdowns. The wine is aged for a year in barrique--only one barrel is produced--without racking and is bottled without filtration. Zero sulfur is added to the wine.
